COVID-19 Schedule Modifications
Human Services provides access to the public through our lobby vestibule that's open to pick up applications and seek information from our virtual greeter. Services continue to be provided online, by phone, outside drop box and scheduled appointment. For more information, call 704-920-1400 between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

If you live in NC, are currently receiving SNAP and have been impacted by COVID-19 you are eligible for a produce prescription program. This program provides $40 per month for fruits and vegetables at all NC Food Lion stores and can be used to buy fresh, frozen and canned fruits and vegetables without added sugar, salt or fat. Learn how to spend Healthy Helping dollars and get tips on the program. Learn how to enroll in the program and to load your Healthy Helping dollars. Spend the dollars by purchasing eligible fruits and vegetables and repeat each month. This program is a three month benefit and will end December 31, 2020. 1-877-490-6642

The revised 2020 LIHEAP Block Grant Plan is available. This year's revisions include:
- Updated Federal Poverty Guidelines which are effective October 1, 2020
- Removing the requirement for Crisis Intervention Program (CIP) applicants to have a disconnect notice
- Explanation of how the CARES Act funding will be spent
- Adding online CIP and LIEAP applications to ePASS effective date January 1, 2021
- Adding the acceptance of Telephonic Signatures for CIP and LIEAP applications
The public is invited to view the revised 2020 LIHEAP Block Grant Plan and submit comments. All comments should be submitted to Jasmyne Simmons at jasmyne.simmons@dhhs.nc.gov.
